This painting shows him doing what he loved… fishing.
Just a simple motion, a soft smile, a man lost in his own rhythm. The moment is casual, but the emotion is anything but.
The bright blue background almost glows behind him, like I was seeing him lit up by the version of him I loved the most.
It’s painted in oil with visible texture and warmth. His hat hides part of his face, but not the way I felt about him. This is the tenderness you don’t always get to keep, but sometimes, you get to paint it.
