Description

“Killing Me Keith” is loud before you even turn the music on.
This oil portrait of a gritty, wild-eyed figure captures the mess, charm, and danger of an unfiltered rock legend. The subject is based loosely on Keith Richards, but the identity is intentionally obscured, inviting the viewer to see a little bit of every raw soul who’s ever burned bright and broken things along the way. Maybe it reminds you of Iggy Pop… Maybe this guy you once had a mad crush on in college…
The palette is electric… saturated yellows, blues, reds and blacks thrown across the canvas with aggressive strokes and thick texture. There’s a cigarette hanging from the fingers. There’s a stare that dares you to look away. It’s Keith, maybe. Or someone who drank with Keith. Or someone who watched the whole thing from the back of the bar and lived to paint about it.
This piece doesn’t apologize. It doesn’t clean up well. It’s meant to make you feel a little off-balance. That’s exactly the point.
